I wrote another poem

Poem for 

You make me write poems at nights I can’t sleep

Cheesy love letters I’ll never let you read

You’re too far, too far out of my reach

This distance I’d like to keep – or maybe not

I’ve only seen you twice, always and forever

No, not like that, just only twice, not now and never

No, that’s wrong, I’ve only seen you two times, really

Just like that, you left me longing to see you more

There was more to you than your pretty face

You were kind, pure, brimming of innocence

The one kind I would never be, not anyone could be

You were you, and I knew I didn’t need time to know that

            I’d like to ask you out for tea, maybe coffee or cake

            I want to talk to you for hours about the world and pointless things

            No, I just want to talk to you, to hear your voice

            Personally or on the phone, just let me hear you

           

            I wanna take a walk with your hand holding mine

            I wanna drive you beneath the city lights and busy streets

            I wanna sing you songs you’ve never heard before

            While heavy traffic makes me stay with you longer

            But that’s all in my head, my dreams included

            I think of you more often than not

            I want us
           You want him
